Established in 1996 by the Government of Karnataka under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Act, RGUHS is the apex academic body governing all health science colleges across Karnataka. It is headquartered in Jayanagar, Bengaluru.

RGUHS regulates and coordinates undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty programmes across Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Naturopathy, Yoga, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Health Sciences — with over 350 affiliated colleges across the state.

Academic Eligibility
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as core subjects.

Minimum aggregate: 50% for General category, 40% for SC/ST/OBC as per government norms.

NEET-UG qualification is mandatory for BAMS admission. Candidates must have appeared and qualified in NEET with a valid scorecard.

Admission is based on NEET merit and the state counselling process under RGUHS/KEA.

There is no upper age limit as per current NCISM / Government of India guidelines.
